Fueling Growth at UNITI Expo 2024
On November 14th, the Titan Cloud Team proudly joined forecourt and fuel operations leaders from around the globe at APEA Live 2024 in Milton Keyes, UK. The daylong event capped off with an evening gala and award ceremony which included naming the winner of the Environmental Protection and Sustainability Award sponsored by Titan Cloud.
Environmental Protection and Sustainability Award
As technologists specializing in advanced monitoring that mitigates environmental risk, we were thrilled to recognize and celebrate the remarkable contributions of individuals, organisations, products, and services at such a prestigious, industry-leading event. Finalists for the Environmental Protection and Sustainability Award were chosen for advancing the areas of innovative solutions, sustainable practices, conservation efforts, awareness Initiatives, and policy and advocacy. They included:
- Emirates National Oil Company Limited (ENOC): a leading integrated global energy player in Dubai and purveyor of the advanced Vapour Recovery System
- Markey Building Services: a part of the Markey Group providing petrol filling station construction and refurbishment services using sustainable practices
- NUPI Industrie Italiane (NUPI): an Italian company pioneering sustainable innovation around plastic piping and fittings for transporting hazardous fluids
- Swan Civil Engineering: a part of Swan Environmental, engineering and services for the environmental, waste management, civil engineering, and fuel sectors
- GW Environmental & Consulting Ltd: Remedial solutions for a safer cleaner industry (Winner!)
Congratulations to GW on the night’s big win, as well as to Brian Humm on his Lifetime Achievement Award sponsored by ELAFLEX LTD. Brian, managing director at Petropolis Limited, is a former petroleum inspector who was employed by the London Fire Brigade for 34 years before his retirement in 2016. While there, he was lead author of the London Fire Brigade Guidance Note 75: Risk Assessments for Petrol Filling stations required under Fire Safety Legislation.
APEA Live Conference & Exhibition
Prior to the award ceremony, the Titan Cloud team spent the day enjoying the opportunity to connect in-person with customers, local fuel retailers and industry colleagues. Given our acquisition of Suresite Wetstock earlier this year, we had plenty of exciting updates to share.
Throughout the day, our conversations consistently centered around three main themes:
1. Wet Stock Management
- Measurement Errors: Variances in fuel inventory due to inaccuracies during delivery (i.e., short drops) or dispensing.
- Low Flow Rates & Nozzle Down Events: The challenges they create and the critical value of understanding them.
- Inventory Discrepancies: Misalignment between expected and actual fuel inventory levels.
- Leaks & Theft: The significant impact of inventory loss due to leaks and theft.
- Temperature Effects: The impact of temperature fluctuations on fuel volume, particularly in certain markets.
2. Testing
- Using the output of wetstock management data to address the source of leaks.
3. Fuel Supply Chain & Logistics Optimisation
- Fuel Supply & Demand Balance: Maximizing sales opportunities while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
- Delivery Window Management: Ensuring the right delivery schedules to meet sales goals, with the least possible disruptions to daily operations.
If these concerns sound familiar, you’re not alone. As I continue to meet with industry professionals and deepen my understanding of this fantastic space, I’m increasingly excited to share Titan Cloud’s end-to-end fuel capabilities.
