We’re excited to sit down with Steve Akers, Titan Cloud’s Chief Product & Technology Officer. As a recent addition to the leadership team, Steve brings fresh perspective and deep industry experience to help shape the future of our platform and technology strategy.

Steve’s expertise is in product vision, digital transformation, and platform innovation to optimize customer experiences and fuel operational efficiency. He’s an industry leader, experienced in steering post-acquisition integrations, delivering SaaS platform modernizations, and launching generative AI-powered solutions.

We asked Steve to share his thoughts on how this critical role will lead Titan Cloud’s data-first approach to empowering our customers with industry-leading technology.

What drew you to the Chief Product & Technology opportunity at Titan Cloud?

Two things immediately drew me to Titan Cloud. First, the company is at a pivotal moment, poised for rapid growth through execution and product innovation. Titan’s ability to merge technology and data with real-world operational impact makes it a powerful force in helping fuel operators improve efficiency, reduce environmental risk, and increase profitability.

Second, I was drawn to the leadership team and culture. My conversations with [CEO] Brett and his team showed a strong commitment to building a world-class product and technology organization—one that is agile, customer-focused, and ready to innovate. It’s exactly the kind of team I wanted to join.

You mention Titan Cloud being at a pivotal moment. How do you see the company evolving going forward?

Titan Cloud has built an incredible foundation in fuel asset management. My vision begins with building on that by scaling smartly and innovating strategically by prioritizing three key areas:

  • Enhancing Data-Driven Insights – Titan already processes vast amounts of data from fuel sites, IoT sensors, and compliance systems. I want to take this further by leveraging machine learning, automation, and predictive analytics to provide customers with real-time, actionable insights for smarter decision-making.
  • Building a Scalable, High-Performance Team – As Titan grows, we need to ensure our technology, processes, and teams scale with us. This means strengthening engineering and data science, refining the product roadmap, and fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and execution.
  • Expanding Our Market Impact – The energy and convenience retail industries are evolving, with a growing emphasis on sustainability, alternative fuels, and operational efficiency. I see Titan playing a critical role in helping customers transition by expanding our offerings in energy management and advanced analytics.

Before you joined us, you took a six-month sabbatical to focus on volunteering, faith-based service, and mentoring and coaching. What was your takeaway from that break?

It was incredibly rewarding to step back from the corporate world and invest in something deeply personal and impactful. During that time, I gained clarity on what truly matters—both personally and professionally. I came out of the experience with a renewed sense of purpose, especially around building teams, solving meaningful challenges, and creating lasting impact.

It also reinforced my belief that strong leadership isn’t just about driving results—it’s about investing in people, fostering collaboration, and creating an environment where teams thrive. That’s a mindset I’m bringing to Titan Cloud.

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?

I love music, movies, and most of all, spending time with my family. We love to travel and have a few exciting trips planned for this year. My wife and I have also become huge soccer fans. We love cheering for our nephew, who plays for Wright State, supporting Liverpool FC (YNWA!), and we’re especially looking forward to attending the Club World Cup quarterfinals in Orlando! Beyond that, I’m always looking for ways to stay involved with my church community and help others wherever I can.
